The 4th Annual "Ride for Martina" Poker Run, held on Saturday, April 5th, 2014 at Hammon, OK raised an incredible $7,150.00 in proceeds which directly benefits Cavett Kids Foundation camps and programs. The run, coordinated by John & Pollie Goodman, and their sweet daughter, Martina, started at JC's Quickstop of Hammon, and included tasty hot dogs, a 50/50 drawing, an auction, and terrific door prizes. One of the auction items was a motorcyle-shaped smoker, created and donated by Michael Elliott. Participants enjoyed a delicious BBQ meal together at the final stop.
To the Goodman family for all you did to put together this event to benefit our campers -- thank you so much!!! Your passion and devotion to our mission is such a blessing to this small staff of five, and we appreciate all your efforts. Cavett Kids would also like to express our appreciation to the run participants, donors, and all others involved with this terrific event. A big thank you to each of you from the bottom of our hearts!
The generosity shown by our donors throughout the year, and sponsors of events like this 4th Annual "Ride for Martina" Poker Run, make it possible for Cavett Kids Foundation to support and operate six camps and 10 annual events at no cost to patients and their families. The organization is not funded by the United Way and operates solely off of donations from generous individuals, organizations, foundations and businesses. Therefore, we can't thank our donors enough for what they do in helping us make a difference in the lives of our precious campers and their families.
